James H. Black, Jr.

Jim Black has been a director of Learn.net since its founding. He also served as Chairman of the Board and CEO of AvData Systems, Inc.( a data communications company) from 1990 to 1999, when it was acquired by ITC^Deltacom. He currently serves on the Board of ITC^Deltacom.

In 1980, Mr. Black co-founded VideoStar Connections, an Atlanta-based company specializing in business television satellite networks. He served as Executive VP and director until 1989, when the company was acquired by EDS, and continued as Executive VP until 1990.

Mr. Black serves on the Board of Directors of Air Quality Sciences, Inc., BeThereNow.com, and Norelli & Company. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Atlanta.

Mr. Black earned BS and MS degrees in Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
