Accessing and presenting many types of content, regardless of where located and in what format (meeting content standards or not), is a key capability of the Content Management capabilities of the Learn.net solutions. All facets of the MAPLE knowledge management system are available to augment the content, including online: assignments; assessments; surveys; certifications; "Guaranteed Competency Control;" classes and events management; email notifications; usage data archiving; and extensive reporting.
Services exist to assist in developing content and re-purposing slides and documents into online courses. Examples can be provided for how an online Ethics class was quickly re-purposed for an insurance company, taken from a Word document. Online tests and surveys were added, providing for the first time reporting on who did and did not take the class, what the test scores were (individually and in total), and what the learners thought of the course.
Learn.net can both host content and launch and deliver content located elsewhere, including at remote third party locations (see below).
Actual Example of One Contents Access Program
Many Content Options Exist
Fast, easy, flexible access to (and management of) many types of content is provided by the Learn.net “Smarter…Not Harder” solution family.
AICC or non-AICC complaint content can be accessed, launched, managed and tracked. The content can be hosted at the customer’s site, at Learn.net, at a third party’s site. PDA or wireless content can be supported. The content type options are:
-Web courses (AICC compliant or not)
-SCORM-based Web content
-CE courses
-Compliance courses
-Marketing or other materials, aids, etc.
-Video and slides programs
-Audio events/classes and slides programs
-Courses or checklists, etc. for PDA’s
-Wireless content
-Extranet information for customers, partners, etc.
-Other types of content
The exact present and future needs of the organization can be easily met via the “MAPLE” Knowledge Management System’s “rules-based” architecture, and the many content access and management flexibilities it provides.
Web-based SCORM courses and content can be accessed, launched and tracked remotely, or as hosted by MAPLE. The same is true for AICC. Non-complaint content can be “wrapped” by the special “SCIM” interface to provide AICC-like standardization.
Video content can also be managed. Learn.net can host the courses, or can access them remotely, transparent to the user. Content for Extranet exposure to customers, partners, etc. can be managed. Wireless or PDA-based courses (e.g., to Palm or CE units in the field) can be supported and managed.
